New City View Diner in Whitehall

Excited servers! Fast friendly and accurate. The menus had today’s specials. The server new the special and could answer all questions. I ate the salad bar with open roast beef Sandwich. The price was very fair. The portion where very filling. I was able to get two meals out of my order . My family also ordered the broiled flounder and Shepard’s pie . Very yummy. We also all ate soup , which was tasty !!!

The food is hot and good it's hard to tell you what I've eaten because over the years I have had a lot here at new City View.Even though I don't work across the street anymore I still go there.I still go in the Whitehall that's a must for living in the area.Inside is well maintained and clean.The decor inside is so beautiful and I like how they transferred from the old time music machine to a new modern oneThe servers are always friendly and pleasant and very helpful

I live alone now, albeit with two miniature poodles, and do not like to cook for myself. The City View Diner is only a mile from my home and since I go there so often, it seems a little like a second home.The diner's food is good, if not fancy, and portions are plenty big and modesty priced. This restaurant is popular with the locals and I see many repeat customers. They have a full bar, but it is little used.The place is well located on Whitehall's main McArthur Road main drag with plentiful parking. I'll be having a late Sunday breakfast at City View later this morning.

So they were out of half the stuff we ordered, we waited forever for someone to get our order , the hostess was rude, my friend said the ladies room toilet was ripped apart but the waiter was very nice and that's why they get 2 not 1. Oh and some lady decided to vacuum while we were eating right next to us.

My husband and I have been coming to this dinner for the past 3-4 years. Amazing place, but we found out today that they have new owners. EVERYTHING changed! The soup plates are smaller, salad on the go are smaller and I ordered a big order that had rice, but instead I asked for mashed potatoes. I received a small side order of mashed potatoes instead of a good amount to enjoy with my chicken. Ridiculous! On top of that, as I'm enjoying the chicken I'm tasting that the meat isn't cooked well and boom, I look again and it wasnt cooked. My husband and I will not be returning back. Unfortunately!

This restaurant reminded me of home in Tennessee with southern comfort food with Northern service. Open 24/7 and decorations for Christmas were classic. My waitress had a great personality. The old jukebox players are a nice touch at some booths that work for your listening.

Since City View’s new owner, this restaurant has made a complete 360. With the way the food comes out hot to the new service and staff. To even being greeted at the door. This restaurant has a new attitude. The new owners truly knew how to turn this place around. They are so welcoming and warm that you feel like you are dining with family. Don’t get me started at the delicious food. My favorite is the chicken buffalo wrap. Also- breakfast never fails to make us leave with smiles. thank you new owners! You saved the place!

I just went for breakfast and almost everything was good but deep frying scrapple is not acceptable to me.

This place used to be great but ever since the new owner took over it's went downhill fast. There used to be people waiting out the door and now there's barely any customers inside. The menu's changed and they got rid of a lot of crowd favorite dishes. Lots of the wait staff has left because of the new owner as well. Food has taken a major hit, it's just not as good as it once was. My family got mild food poisoning the last time we ate there and I doubt we'll be back. It's quite a shame because it used to be a great diner that I loved. People shouldn't try and fix things that aren't broken. Shame on the new owners.

The food and prices were decent. Our waitress Carol was the best. Love the purple hair!!!! I love the coffee at this diner. Felt like VIP when they closed our section when Carol went on break.

We also all ate soup , which was tasty !!! I went here for lunch . Meet my family my sister was up from west palm beach Florida and she picked this spot to come eat as she was passing through.

It was packed today, 1/1/20. We stopped for a light lunch. We had soup and we split a sandwich. They put our sandwich on two separate plates both with fries and coleslaw & a pickle. Everything was very good.

This Diner is fast and has your everyday dinner food. Great place when in a hurry.

City View has always held a spot in my heart, and their food has always been decent quality. I frequent this restaurant late in to the morning, because a solid omelette at 2am is kind of their thing. They have good prices, decent wait staff, and the desserts are a nice touch when you're in the mood.

While the service was good, the Food was Terrible. I have managed and cooked at an award winning Diner in NJ, that was featured on Foodnetwork's ,"Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". Tomato sauce for mozzarella sticks, was more like a thick paste, that tasted of metal. Hamburger ordered Medium Rare was stuck under a heat lamp while waiting for scallops to cook, which made the burger well done. The scallops over cooked, onion rings, over cooked and oily. French fries were like saw dust. EVERYTHING was previously frozen. clam chowder obviously, canned. Nothing good to say about the Food here. This is the 3rd time I have been here and last time I will be here.

The food was great and my server Katie was absolutely amazing. She catered to my needs and checked up on me often! Katie is the true ambassador of what this diner is all about....great food and attentive service!

Excellent service. Only place that had correct times on Google and we're the earliest to open around. Food was amazing, good Coffey is hard to come by but was perfect here. I have no complaints and they were very clean and covid aware!

Great place to do lunch. It was a very nice diner experience. Everyone was very friendly. The food was very good. The parking lot seemed pretty full but there was plenty of spacious seating in the dinning room. It was a great place for a comfortable quick lunch for two.

Stopped for lunch in the middle of the hurrican. Food was good and the prices average. Would stop by again.

Mini jukebox at the table was my favorite part. Staff was friendly and food was delicious.

The "new" city view diner has definitely washed the bad taste out of my mouth left by the "old" city view diner. Much better food, service And decent prices as well. Just remember that this is a low priced diner and don't set your expectations too high.

I always eat there the food is excellent as well as the service. I go there every chance I get. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good food and service.
